Jarrett spent 8 years coaching at the collegiate level, both NCAA and NJCAA, holding various positions. He started out as a volunteer assistant coach at Alfred University and by his second year he was a head assistant. The following year Jarrett moved to the NJCAA ranks where he coached the defense as the head assistant for the State University of New York at Alfred. While the assistant at SUNY Alfred, the school made the transition to NCAA Division III. Jarrett spent the next 2 years as the head assistant, the first year as defensive coordinator, the second and most recently, as offensive coordinator. Jarrett has also coached at 16 Army Lacrosse Camps, 8 Hobart Lacrosse Camps, and 5 Corning East Lacrosse Camps.
Before beginning his coaching career, Jarrett spent 2 years playing Division I lacrosse at Hobart College and 1 year playing Division III for Alfred University. An ankle injury forced him to miss his junior season. While earning his Varsity Letter his freshman year at Hobart, the team also earned an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2004. During his one season at Alfred University he earned Second Team All Empire 8 as a midfielder. Jarrett scored 26 goals and handed out 7 assists while picking up 50 ground balls. The goals and ground balls were good enough to lead the team.
Prior to college, Jarrett became his high schools all-time leading scorer and was a member of Corning West’s first 2 sectional championships. Following his senior year of lacrosse he was invited to play in the annual North/South High School All American game. Jarrett was also teammates of fellow Sentry Lacrosse coaches, Pat DeBolt and David Streeten, earning a silver medal in the 2002 Empire State Games. Jarrett’s parents, Thomas and Jeannette, still reside in the Elmira, NY home they raised 2 children in. Jarrett’s sister, Kasey, lives in Levittown, PA with her husband and 3 children.
