Conflict with tryout dates? If you are unable to attend your team's designated tryout, please do not worry! Players with conflicts please email admin@sentrylacrosse.com with dates and times that work best for you.
HOW YOU CAN HELP?: Please help spread the word to families within your community. We have great coaches at each age level that are willing to go the extra mile to provide a great product in the Dallas area.
Tryouts: What team should you tryout for Sentry Dallas or Sentry North Texas? It does not matter where you live, choose your team simply based off your preference. Players are welcome to try out for both teams however, they will have to pick which team they will play for after tryouts.
What If your son already plays for a Sentry Dallas team but lives North of Dallas?: We encourage all families to stay on the Sentry Dallas teams, unless the drive is a significant inconvenience. We are extremely proud of the Dallas teams we have built and we want to keep the core players and team camaraderie together. *If you live north of Dallas, this is a great opportunity for players to play on the Sentry Dallas team, and receive extra practices with the Sentry North Texas teams.
When and where will practices take place? Practice will be in Dallas area for all Sentry Dallas teams. We will uses the Allen fields from time to time for scrimmages and play days. *Please note that we will not lock down the full practice schedule until after tryouts. Once Teams are formed, coaches will email families to figure out what dates, and times work best for the majority of the group. We try our best to be flexible and avoid as many conflicts as possible for each individual team so we can create a good atmosphere at practice.
Should your son play for school team? YES! We want all players to support their school teams. One of Sentry team rules is that players must attend their school practices and games over any Sentry event. Sentry Lacrosse is not a school program, we are a select program that offers additional Lacrosse outside of School lacrosse.
How many practices are expected? (Varies by grade) 40- 50 Practices. August- December: we understand September is a very busy time of the year with school starting and football so we plan on starting off with 1 practice a week for the 1st couple of weeks. Once we have a better understanding of everyone schedule and football comes to an end we will go 2 times a week. January is a month we have most of our specialty camps so we have very little to no practices. February- April: Players should play for their school teams however, we will host "Skill" practices every Sunday to avoid as many conflicts as possible. May- July: 2-3 Practices a week until the last tournament of the season. *Please keep in mind that if we feel a team needs more practice or needs a break we will make adjustments where we see fit.
Alternate Registration: https://sentrylacrosse.sportngin.com/register/form/598973895
How it works: As an alternate, you will pay $999 for the full year of practices 40-50 practices however, you cannot play in local/travel tournaments. In the event that a player currently on the team is hurt, sick, or cannot make a tournament we will ask the alternates to play at no additional cost. Between 40-50 practices with good coaching and great teammates, I have found this opportunity to be extremely beneficial to players looking to expedite their lacrosse skills.
